This is the main BSGames logo. If you’ve been exploring the BSGames section, you’ve probably seen it already. We playfully embrace the joke that might be missed by some. I can’t help but chuckle when I’m asked if I know what it means.
Officially, it stands for Bill and Scott Games. We’re the founders. Below, you’ll see how I creatively incorporate the BS concept throughout our branding, creating a seamless and lighthearted flow that connects everything we do to build the brand. Let’s take a look at some of the wild stuff that came before and how it evolved into its clean and modern logo/brand.

Check out these early designs where I started. I experimented with a school-teaching theme for a while. I consider these the rough sketches. I work mostly in Adobe Illustrator; it is my favourite program. I do use other programs but mainly the big three: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I kept refining and copying them over and over again. These were never used. You can see it evolve into a more usable logo.

So, the previous ideas were just the foundation. Then, we refined the logo and flipped the die to reveal the word ‘Games’. It started to feel right, and with some minor adjustments, it came together really quickly.
In the early stages, I get a sense of the project, and anything goes. Then, there’s a moment when everything clicks and it all comes together. Looking back, I find these fun. I didn’t like how I experimented with different gradients. I like gradients but this seems obsessive. They didn’t last long.
I had a bit of a fascination with making them float, like they were magical. At that time, it felt incredible. The shadow didn’t last long either before we stopped using those versions. The bottom right version, without the shadow, is probably the one that lasted the longest… I think it was around 5 years or more.

Here’s where I get a little more creative. Each section of the website has a header that I continued the brand across. The main BSGames section gives you a sneak peek at some of the game projects we are working on. It’s in its own introduction section, and it’s called BSGames. The last one is the BSClub. Haha. I included it here for consistency, but it got its own section as well. Check out how it was implemented into the feeling of being a gold member.
